Precision 3D’s Project Engineers use industry leading FARO 3D laser scanners to document historic sites, structures, and artifacts.  Our laser scanners capture hundreds of millions of precise data points that later create detained 3D models for close observation and further analysis.  The data captured is processed with forensic software.  Within the software, the data is converted into highly accurate (1-3mm), detailed 2D and 3D renderings with verified error rates.   

The non-intrusive nature of 3D laser scanning provides a hands-off means of cataloguing fragile and important historical sites and objects. The precision of the data collected in this way can aid design and renovations with 1-3 mm accuracy to help document existing, historical structure.  The data can later be used to assess alterations, damage, and when planning to repair and/ or rebuild to the exact specs of an existing structure.
